Sleeping. This is constantly shifting and can cause families so much distress.
-
Weaning. The when, how and what dilemma.

Toileting. How to support its natural development.
-
Specific behaviours. How to manage behaviours that become challenging.

POSTPARTUM

Mothers do the most amazing job of growing a human being, but to do that the body has made sacrifices. Many women are significantly depleted by the birth and need "a village" to support them and their child. The role of the postpartum doula is to connect the family to their village, offer practical, emotional support and provide guidance around the early days of parenting. This service is about;
-
Non-judgemental listening. Everyone has advice to offer you in the weeks leading up to delivery and for the rest of your parenting journey. I listen, reflect, and offer guidance not advice nor direction. I believe in a natural continuum of development and that given space and understanding we all have an innate ability to parent just as a child has their own inner guide to be able to walk and talk.
-
Helping you to understand the developmental needs of your new baby. We can explore what is normal, what to expect from your baby and how you can support your baby's needs making for a smoother journey.
-
The postpartum period (the first 6-8 weeks). This will be both the longest and shortest period of your lives. With each birth comes change, from a couple to a family, or from a family to a "new" family. Every relationships changes with the arrival of a baby.
-
Breast feeding. I am not a lactation nurse, but I am experienced in breastfeeding and often what is most needed is support. If Mum is stressed the all-important hormone oxytocin can’t flow.
-
Nutrition. New mothers need to replenish their bodies and eat foods that will be gentle on a gut that has been squashed for the last month or more. They need collagen to repair tissue, and calories to support milk production. The service can provide you with some meals, fill your freezer or recipes for others to make for you.
-
Sleep. How to get the rest you and your baby need.
PRICES:
This is a very tailored approach which could be any variation on the pricing below. Eight weeks of 3 hour visits $2000 with additional cost for any cooking or food provided.
*There will be an additional cost for travel over 50km.
Ultimately these services can be tailored to meet your family's specific needs so lets talk.
